 New team and delicious new menus at Bayards Kitchen 

Bayards KItchen at The Cider Press Centre, Dartington, heads into the winter season with a new team, new look and a fabulous new menu.

Lisa Bennett has been appointed general manager at the award winning cafe, bringing with her a wealth of expertise and experience.

Lisa previously managed The Beach House at South Milton and has already settled into her new role, saying she loves the buzzing atmosphere of Bayards Kitchen and working in a busy cafe that’s at the heart of a popular shopping destination.

Jess Smith is the cafe’s new assistant manager having recently moved from Bristol to South Brent.

Heading up the kitchen team is Martin Reynolds with Joanna Eze assisting him. Adam Knapman, Josh Rapier, Lucia Sprenkel, Maya Levi, Maria Knoefel and Emily Dunning make up the rest of the team. 

Hand roasted Voyager coffee takes centre stage at the cafe with a new coffee machine providing the most delectable flavours made by the team who are all expert baristas.

There are also a range of other drinks including Heron Valley, Devon Rock and Hunts Cider, picked, pressed and bottled in the rolling hills of the Devon landscape. Food is locally sourced, scones are handmade in the kitchen, and cakes are sourced from Country Kitchen in Torquay. Vegan, vegetarian and gluten options ensure every diet is satisfied.

The interior has been given a makeover, with fresh, bright spaces to enjoy food and time with friends. Inside there’s an enclosed play area for children, with another space outside too for children to scamper about while their carers take some time out.

The cafe is renowned for its cooked breakfasts, and it has become a popular place for early morning meetings.

Commented Lisa: “It’s such a lovely space here that we encourage people to come along, pull out their laptop and enjoy service with a smile while catching up on work. With plenty of free parking, it’s just so easy to pop in.

“Its such an exciting time to have joined the Bayards team, with some great plans for The Cider Press Centre with Bayards Kitchen at its heart.”
