Bayards Kitchen has appointed Aimee Dagnall as its new general manager. Aimee, who took up the reigns last week, brings a wealth of experience to the role having worked in the hospitality industry for many years.
Born and bred in Devon, Aimee is a huge advocate of supporting local producers and businesses. Among the immediate changes she has introduced is to increase engagement with local businesses, including inviting them to display their posters on the notice board and bring leaflets they would like to share free of charge.
Aimee will also introduce new events to support local causes and bring a fun element to the cafe, with a halloween fancy dress competition on October 31 kicking off the calendar.
Aimee said: “We will be hosting private events too, as and when time allows, we have introduced tabs reservations, there will be lots more cakes and more options for vegans and gluten free.”
She went on: “We are friendly normal people who love making people smile. We want you to make memories with your loved ones. We can provide the environment, tasty coffee and a delicious choice of cakes.”
While tucking into cake is top of Aimee’s pastimes, she also loves hiking on Dartmoor, discovering great places to eat in Devon, and drinking milkshake.
Owner Charlie Deuchar said: “We’re delighted that Aimee has joined us as general manager. She’s a breath of fresh air with a wealth of ideas and we’re looking forward to growing the business with her, offering really great food and a fantastic place to meet, whether that’s for food, a breakfast meeting or a private party.”
